When visiting the Long Beach Convention Center, the number of restaurant offerings in the surrounding area can be overwhelming, and not every establishment is worthy of your dining dollars, in our opinion. MyLongBeach has put together a list of a few of our favorite restaurants near the Long Beach Convention Center to help you have the best dining experience possible when visiting the great City of Long Beach on business.
Upscale Dining in Long Beach
For a luxury dining experience near the Long Beach Convention Center, try 555 East American Steakhouse. Their menu consists of USDA Prime dry-aged steaks, high-quality, sustainable seafood, and a variety of delicious accompaniments. The restaurant also has several private and semi-private areas that can be reserved for meetings of up to 60 guests, and features great views of the harbor and the Queen Mary.
Best Happy Hour in Long Beach
If you’re just looking for a place to grab some drinks and appetizers, check out RISU. The establishment is known for their full bar featuring creative cocktails and a great selection of both wine and beer, as well as their sharable plates and appetizers. RUSU offers amazing Happy Hour deals, 7-days a week. The menu changes often, with the addition of seasonal offerings, and their heated patio is a great place to enjoy a drink and a bite to eat after a long day.
A Casual, but Unique Gastropub in Long Beach
Locals and visitors to Long Beach alike love BO-beau kitchen + roof tap for causal dining in a unique environment. This highly rated restaurant classifies their food as “California-French comfort food”. They have both a downstairs dining room and bar, as well as an upstairs patio for open-air dining. It should be noted that Bo-beau is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but Wednesday through Friday, the restaurant features a popular tasting menu that features four of their most popular offerings.
Long Beach Chain Restaurants that Don’t Disappoint
People have mixed feelings about chain restaurants. Some love them for the consistent experience they tend to offer guests. Others disparage chain restaurants as too generic and “corporate”. No matter which side of the debate you fall on, there are definitely some chain restaurants that are better than others. If you are open to chain restaurants, there are a few near the Long Beach Convention Center worth checking out.
Yard House is a popular option for those visiting Long Beach. The restaurant has a large, diverse menu, and an even larger selection of beers on tap. The food is consistently good and fairly priced, and the environment is clean and modern. It can be a bit loud, and has a sports bar vibe, so keep that in mind if you are hoping to talk business during your meal.
For a more casual, relaxing environment, try King’s Fish House in Long Beach. Known for their fresh seafood and great service, this place rarely disappoints. And if you aren’t from California, you would probably never know this place is a chain restaurant.
Of course, there are many other great restaurants near the Long Beach Convention Center. These are just a few that we enjoy and recommend!
